The segment of the project through The Colony’s city limits is referred to as the FM423 South Project.  The project includes auxiliary right and left turn lanes at specific locations along Main Street, and a new signal at Lake Highlands Blvd.

The roadway construction contract was conditionally approved by TxDOT in September 2011. Construction is scheduled to start mid to late 2013 after the private utilities have completed relocation. Anticipated completion date is June 2016. Oncor, CoServ, AT&T, Grande, LISD, and Time Warner are relocating private utilities. City Council approved agreements for TxDOT’s contractor to construct enhancements and relocate the City’s utilities.
